A good feeling : September 16, 2008

It's a good feeling when your RENTAL car is damaged by a tree falling on it. For those that know me well enough, you know it's just my luck (or my lack of it).

The funniest thing about this whole poopsittie, is that we purposely surrounded that car with other cars on both sides of it, hoping the cars on the outside would protect it a little more. The cars all around my car were left untouched, yet.. there was a freaking tree on mine! ASS! Okay, just wanted to vent a little more :)

Actually, I think it's kind of funny? Ah well, at least it wasn't my car! I'd be a lot more upset if I eventually got my car out of the shop in one piece, only to have a tree fall on it. Alright... it is not AS bad as I make it sound; an entire tree did not topple directly on the car - BUT a fairly large branch did, and it put two pretty large dents on the side of the car and scratched up a big portion of the hood.

But wow, the hurricane was absolutely spectacular! We stood outside the entire time, not to mention standing/walking around in the middle of it. It was chaotic all around the house, but for whatever reason, it was freakishly calm outside on the patio. In fact, cheyenne cooked outside throughout the duration of the storm. We'd see the trees gusting and hear the wind roaring, yet.. we stood there drinking and smoking cigarettes like a train.

I took the storm for granted given the realization of its aftermath. Ike, you beast - you! We're (the house) surruonded by trees. You'd be amazed to see how this thing split almost every one of these trees open like a banana (bananaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa <-- sorry, that was just for fun)..

I'll have to upload some good pictures later....

So I'm currently typing away @ my house with my computers all around me.. Oh joy! It's not as pleasant as it sounds! I'm still working.... damnit.
